Hello, I am Diana.
I am working on a just and sustainable energy transition.
This is me
I see myself as a European citizen, born in Germany. I speak 5 European languages - even if not all at the same level. Did you know that "eu" in Romanian means "I"? Now I am going to tell you more about me.
I am a sustainability professional with interdisciplinary degrees in environmental science, climate science and geography. My PhD research focused on climate change perceptions and social and geographical aspects of the local energy transition in North Frisia (Northern Germany). The impressions from the time made me decide that I want to support energy transitions in the European Union (EU) and beyond. I have been working for research institutions and non-governmental organisations, in collaboration with policymakers, businesses and civil society. I have spent some time abroad for my studies and developed personally even further during my journeys in South America and South-East-Asia. I am very interested in and fascinated by different cultures and world views related to the environment and beyond.
Currently, I work for the Institute for European Energy and Climate Policy (IEECP) as Senior Expert Energy Policies and Transition Aspects. I coordinate the EU Life project JUStice in Transition and EMpowerment against energy poverty (JUSTEM) and support work within other EU projects.
Besides my work at IEECP, I am an active member of the Climate-KIC Alumni, in which context I organise Climate Action Walking Tours. I give lectures at schools as lecturer for the NGO Lecturers Without Borders (LeWiBo) and I mentor young professionals, for example, in the framework of the Global Women's Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET) mentoring programme.
In my free-time, I love to do yoga, cycle, go hiking or diving, cook plant-based food, work on my community-supported farm, do arts or visit museums, and travel to new and known destinations.
